since September 2006 we have been a couple. Back then, we still went to the same high school and always shared our lunch snacks :). As soon as we had our driving licenses we started to explore our neighboring countries, and after working in our first summer jobs we booked our first trip to the Canary Islands. For our first trip, we chose the easiest way and booked an all-inclusive holiday. For the first time it was quite okay, we were happy to be on our own and to be able to swim in the ocean :) However, during another all-inclusive trip to Bulgaria (horrible, never ever again!), after a few days we were so bored because there wasn't much to do other than drinking and swimming, we made a decision: We won't travel like that anymore - getting up at 6 a.m. in order to reserve a sunbed at the beach or pool, or watching stupid animation programs all day ain't no fun. We wanted to plan a trip on our own and really experience a country. Therefore, in summer 2012 we booked our first backpacking trip. 3 weeks across Thailand - in our opinion the perfect country for backpacking-beginners. Except for our flights and a hotel for the first 3 nights, we hadn't planned anything in advance. And so for the first time, we could really experience a foreign country, new culture, different food - instead of separated hotels. And even when some things went wrong on that trip, it's been the trigger for our passion to travel. From that summer on, especially during our time as students, almost everything of our money was spent on traveling - and we couldn't have spent it any better. Ever since then we are looking for new adventures, and whenever there is an opportunity, we are packing our bags and hop onto the next plane ... :)
You can't buy happiness, but you can buy a plane ticket, which is pretty close...
